[2561] On November 7, 1775, he was elected a member of the second Committeeof Safety. On March 4, 1776, he was appointed overseer of batteaumenat Lake George, and on March 5 was objected to by certain persons asbeing too young to serve, although the objection was not sustained bythe Committee. On July 9, 1777, he gave the use of a wagon for theservice. He served as a private under Captain Jellis J. Fonda, and asquartermaster in the 2d Albany County Militia.

Mrs. Mary L. Savage
Mrs. Mary L. Savage, 901 W. Laurel street,died at 2:30 P.M. Friday, after an illness of five weeks. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday at the home of Mrs. R.R. Walcott, 1033 South Walnut.The Rev. John H. Burma, pastor of the Central Presbyterian Church, will officiate.
Interment will be at Georgetown under the direction of the Taliey Funeral home. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lee Grooms of Dumas, Texas, andMrs. R.L. Farrer of Sheman, two sister, Mrs. James J. Savage of Goodnight, Okla. and Mrs. Sailie Armstrong of Madil, Okla. and three brothers, Jean, Frank and Jessie Strite, all of Madill Okla.
The deceased was the widow of the late H.E. Savage, for many years old at the tie of her death had lived in Sherman formore than 15 years.
Pallbearers will be B.R. Walcott, Fred A. Johnson, R.O. Bell, Frankie Hunt, J.E. Farrer and R.O. Bell Jr.
