The following are excerpts with pertinent information for Joshua BOTTS:

John BOTTS was the first settler of Parsons Creek township within its present domain. He first came in 1833, and his brother,Joshua came with him, and they put up a cabin of poles. He settled on sectionone, township fifty-seven, range twenty-two, but it was nearly three years before he brought his family. He was a Kentuckian born and raised, but came to Linn from Howard County.

--Various Documents and receipts datingfrom 1843 to 1873. Found by Gloria Leeper in an envelope addressed to O.K. Botts, also written on envelope are the words, "Old Papers of Mothers". Originaldocument in the possession of Bill & Gloria Leeper, a copy with Bill Leeper, II(NOTE: FILED BOTTS, Joshua).

Receipt of Taxes Paid for the year 1843. Original document in the possession of Bill & Gloria Leeper, a copy with Bill Leeper, II (NOTE: FILED BOTTS, Joshua):
