[92126] WILLIAM NICKERSON married Roxanna Hopkins, daugter of Barzillai and Lydia
Eldredge. Soon after their marriage, Roxanna and William removed to
Orphan Island, Maine where their first child was born. This place had
several names including Orland and Verona. The 1790 Census shows
William as head of a household of 1 male over 16 and 3 females at Orphan
Island, Hancock County. Records of that county show William mortgage
land to William Wetmore, 100 acrs for 80 pounds, 22 October 1791.
