Annie Elizabeth Frowein, 69, passed away yesterday at her home, 409 West Woodbury Street, Macomb, after an illness of about a year with complications. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternood December 14, at the Baptist church. The Rev. J. W. Merrill will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Blackstone, she was born January 9. 1868 in Oklahoma where she lived before coming to Macomb in 1892. On July 3, 1885 she was united in marriage to John A. Frowein, who preceded her in death, to this union were born 13 children, 2 of whom died in infancy.
Those surviving are LeRoy Frowein, Macomb; Mrs. Frank Sheppard, LaHarpe; Ernest Frowein, Macomb; Clarence Frowein, Macomb; Mrs. Louis Woerly, Macomb; Charles Frowein, Kalamazo, Michigan; Fredrick Frowein, Macomb; Leslie Frowein, Macomb; Lloyd Frowein, Macomb; and Clara Bell Frowein, Macomb. Also surviving are a brother, Ben Blackstone of Andrew, Texas, a grandson, Fredrick Hainline, who made his home with her, and numerous other grandchildren.
Mrs. Frowein had been a member of the Macomb Baptist Church for 40 years and was a charter member of the Royal Neighbors Lodge in this city. She was active in the work of the church and the lodge while her health permitted and was beloved by a wide circle of friends and acquaintances as well as by members of her family.
Friends may call at the residence to pay their respects until the hour of the services.

Annie Blackstone was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Blackstone, according to her obituary. There are four places and five dates for her birth, as follows; 1. Jan 9, 1868, Oklahoma, from her obituary 2. Jan. 1871, Missouri, from the 1900 Census 3. 1870, United States, from the 1910 Census 4. 1863, from the Royal Neighbors (an ins. co.) 5. Jan. 1, 1868, from Annie's daughter-in-law, Lois Frowein. 6. Arkansas, from the 1880 Arkansas Census.
Family legend says that Annie met John Abraham Frowein while he was working on "THE KATY FLYER". They were married July 3 or 4, 1885. John and Annie had thirteen children. For most of their married lives they lived in Macomb, McDonough, Illinois. John's occupation was a tinner and Annie was a Nursing Home Aide.
On May 6, 1897 Annie joined the First Baptist Church of Macomb.
John Frowein passed away November 23, 1922. He died of Angina. Annie followed him on December 12, 1937. She died at her home from cancer of the colon.
Annie Elizabeth and John Abraham Frowein are buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb, Illinois.
