Mrs. Viola B. Carwin Resident of Proctor Region, Dies Sunday
Funeral services will be conducted a 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the A.D. Jackson & Son mortuary for Mrs. Viola Banister Carwin, aged 78 years, who died at 10:30 o'clock Sunday night near Peetz. Mrs. Carwin had been in poor health for six years and
was bedfast for thirty days. She resided in the Proctor community for 27 years.
Mrs. Carwin was born December 9,1867 in Ohio, daughter of William W.- and Sarah Bricker Banister. She resided at Hamburg and Essex, IA., growing to womanhood at the latter place. Following graduation from high school she taught at Essex. She was
married in 1888 to William B. Carwin.
They moved to Wray, Colorado in 1900 and later went to Nebraska, finally establishing their home near Proctor. Two years ago, they moved to the Peetz district. Mr. Carwin died February 6,1941.
Surviving Mrs. Carwin are three sons, James G. Carwin of La Jara, Donald B. Carwin and Ronald N. Carwin of Proctor a daughter Mrs. Ina McGhee ( McGee) of Peetz, with whom Mrs. Carwin lived recently; a brother W.E. Banister and a sister, Miss Emma
Banister, both of Woodward, Oklahoma and 14 grandchildren, 12 great - grandchildren.
