[2336] The Neville linage and Westmoreland people are the same family. Thefamily name was Neville and their title was Earls of Westmoreland. In thenew world they were being called the Westmorelands and it was writtenthat way and dropped the actual family name of Neville. Young and Selahhad a hospitality house or stage coach stop near Looxahoma, Ms.. Selahand one daughter died within a few days of each other from typhoid fever.We believe she was buried at a church cem. near there ho
me but is not in exitence now. We are still looking for the graves.Shortly after her death Young sold the hotel and left the vicinty for acouple of years. He returned and bought a place called the Rock Hill nearHarmontown and is still in the
family. There was also a school built under the hill and was called RockHill School.
The record of Selah Neville Snipes death is from the Nevill family biblein
possession at the time of Mrs. Ora Dean (Neville) Funderburk, OliveBranch, Ms.
now deceased. Present owner unknown. A copy of bible records is owned by
Clarence Spence, Memphis, Tn.
