1840 Census of Monroe County, MS, page 63. The head of household on thiscensus seems to read 'Moses Howel'. There is a chance it could have beenmeant to read 'Abram Howel' as this is the way his name appeared onseveral other documents. Although Abraham Howell has never beenassociated with a third name, there is a slim chance that Moses may havebeen his first or middle name. Either way this is almost certainly heand his family. Andrew, John and Gilbert were the only living childrenin 1840 that had moved out of the home. They are all listed in seperatehouseholds in Monroe and Tishomingo Counties, MS. Elias, Mary, Charity, and an un-named child had all died prior to this census.
