North side facing Main street that Nathaniel Warren had purchased from
John Murdock. In 1722 Thomas Witherell became the owner of the entire
estate once owned by Warren. His gravestone reads "Here lyes eternal ye
body of Mr. Thomas Wethreil who decd April ye 21st 1743 in ye 63d year of
his age" The inventory of his estate included one Negro man named
London, (valued at 42 pounds) and one Negro woman name Bess (valued at 10
pounds). Thomas and his wife were buried on Burial Hill, Plymouth. He
was licensed to sell liquor as an inn holder, Court of General Sessions
Sep 1713 and was on a jury to study the need of a route to Plymton, Court
of Grand Sessions, June 1713. Plymouth VR, MD 16:87 for death date.
