-about 1811 left Mass and settled with parents in Mt Sterling,
Montgomery Co., Ky
-26 September 1813 Nathaniel Patten Sr writes to his son of his concern with
Nancy. She has fallen for an older man, very possibly Mr. Parks, and is in
a contentious relationship with her parents - she could have been pregnanat
from the sorrow expressed in brother Nathaniel Pattens poety concerning "Eliza"
-1820 father Nathaniel dies inMt. Sterling. Upon his death, widow Mary
Patton was to receive his share ofa "dower" from the estate of Sarah Patten of
Boston, possibly brother of Nathaniel. Mr Parks died possibly sometime between
1814-1820, for Nancy is now Mrs. Nettleton. Family records state that she
had a son Hudson Park. Nancy possmd Nettleton in Montgomery County prior to
going Missouri. Later records reveal that Mr. and Mrs.
Nettleton protested the dower going to the widowed mother. It is uncertain at
this time if Nettletons were in Ky or with brother Nathaniel in St. Charles Co.
- 23 February 1825 Letter from Springfield, Mo tosister Sarah Patten,
Franklin, Mo. Nancy is now Mrs. Nettleton with childrenHudson, Jane Ann, and
baby Sarah b. about 1824. Family notes indicate that Nancy left Mr. Nettleton
and was residing in Mt Vernon, Indiana 1848. Brother Nathaniel sent money to
his sister. Supposidly Nancy md Mr. Parks and had sonHudson, and later a Mr.
Baker. The marriage lasted only one day. It is uncertain if Hudson, Jane Ann,
and baby Sarah all belong to the Nettleton/Patten marriage.
-Mary Patten dieds in St. Charles 1852. Nancy of Mt. Vernon was to receive
her father's picture.
