Dear Lizzie,
I have no doubt that you wil be a little surprised at getting a letter from me but Norman has been putting off writing to you for so long and he has been wanting me to answer for him because he is busy most of the time that I would get at it. We are
all well children and all with the exception of your Uncle he has been having a vary serious time with the chills was so bad that he has had to have the Doctor but he is some better now is able to set up most of the day the Dr. thinks he will get up
all right if he just takes care of himself. but your Aunt and myself have been real well ever sincewe come here be sure we were pretty well worn out when we reached here taking care of so many children on the way. but we soon got rested up and your
aunt has been better since she came here than she has been for the last two years the children are all getting as fat as little pigs. there has none of us been homesick yet and don't know whether we shall be or not but I don't feel much like it now I
like what I have seen of Kansas vary well the boys all say they will nver go back east to live for my part I should have been vary well contented living there if times had beenn as good there as they havebeen in the past but they are not and I don't
expect they ever will be again. so it was no place for us for wages were so low that no one Could live at them atall. Herbert's eyes have been better since he has been in Kansas. and than they have been before for a long time he has been able to do
more out door work since he has been here than he has ever done before and guess since his eyes got sore I had a letter from Nett Morse not long ago they were all well and she and Lynn had been having a good time going to parties and having lots of fun
they have got them a new organ but suppose you have heard from Nett since I have and this will be no news to you. Norman is hauling cord wood to Freedonia now they had quite a fire there the other night it broke out at about two oclock. the nightwatch
says it caught from a lamp exploding in a saddlers shop it distroyed nine or ten buildings before they got it stoped it happened to be a very calm night or Norman says it woulld have burned the whole town Sam has been going to school most all winter.
his school finishs this week and believe Sam has got to be most aas tall as any of the boys and Harley has got so fat that he can't ware and of his clothes he brought with him my baby is nine months old was the 8th of this month she creeps every place
and climbs up to everything she can get hold of and gets her little self bimped a dozen times a day. Inez the oldest one was two years old in September. Well Lizzie I guess all I can think of this time Baby is getting cross and climbing up to me and
Inez is up here beside me my paper and my hand so you will have a time reading it I guess but you will have to excuse all the mistakes for when a Couple has a Couple of little ones to bother them and jump up and tend them every few minutes they can't
write so good as they could if they had no one to bother at all. so I will say good-bye for this time hoping to hear from you soon and will try and make Norman fill the other half sheet. love to all Josie Tuck
