summers. left the methodist church in 1843 because of Masonry, slavery, and liquor selling, joined the wesleyan methodists. with 2 other brothers went to hadley circuit in saratoga co ny organizing 8 new churches, then 1847 went to West chazy ny as
minister and doctor, in 1850 he went to granville corners ny as doctor and preacher in 25 mi circuit, then to union grove IL where 10 vermont families had settled. july 1861 3 children died in 2 weeks of diptheria, in 1862 he went back to granville iL
to a fruit farm. always a strong temperance man.
