[869] Inheritance in 1625, declared Lord of Westbury Manor. On March 14, 1639he came with his family to Boston and enrolled as a Free Mason. Served asGovernor's Assistant in the Conneticutt Colony from 1647 to 1656. Edwardobtained a 500 acre land grant at Lynn, Massachussets before 1639. He wasa founder of Southampton, Long Island in about 1640. He was the builderand owner of the first grist mill in Southampton, Long Island.
