Isaac Low and his wife came to Sabine County, Texas in 1828 from Tennessee.
Here Isaac operated the Low Ferry at the mouth ofLow's Creek and the Sabine River for many years.

Based on a letter receivedfrom Ronald R McClendon of Albuquerque, NM
on 3 Feb 1998:

"There was a feud that began after the bodies of William Christopher (Kit) Smith and Eli Lowe on the Conner range. Based on circumstantial evidence, Willis Jackson Conner, and his sons were accused of killing these two men and they later fought the local law enforcement officials including a special detachment of Texas Rangers. From these gun battles cam the name, Conner Feud. Oddly, in later years the Lowe's and Smith's and Conner's all intermarried. There are several books that discuss this feud in
various detail, some being pro-Conner, and some anti." Covered by Toledo Lake)
