[749] Shortly after the death of his first wife, Polly, Henry left CabarrusCounty and moved with his two infant sons, Nelson and Evan to HaywoodCounty, NC. His brotherJohn had moved there previously. Henry raised hisfamily on Richland Creek, NC with his second wife and their children andbecame known as one of the more prominent families of the area. Henry andhis wife are buried in the Greenhill Cemetery in Waynesville, NorthCarolina.
There has been a medical study conducted over the years that dealsprimarily with the descendants of Henry who lived in HAywood County, NC,(formerly a part of Buncombe County), and then later descendants inJackson County were included in this study of the Howells with what isnow known as Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency. This deficiency is a hemolyticanemia, and the descendants of four of the eight children of Henry havethis deficiency.
