County. He owned 3,300 acres of land, and raised annually from 30,000 to
50,000 pounds of tobacco and hemp. Owned 25 slaves, principal tabacco raisers
of the county; ran a large saw mill on the Chariton river;located on the farm
near where he lives (about 1890); Md 1832 to Amanda Williams, left 8 children
when she died in 1857:
