We would love to have you join us in the family fold! You have knowledge and data that could probably help one or more of us ... likewise, we probably have data and knowledge that will help you. You'll never have to leave home to talk to us.... not even in the rain, snow, or blustery wind! And even better, it won't cost you even one thin dime! You see, ours is an email discussion group. When you can't get out to your nearest research center, perhaps one of us can/will assist you. Family takes care of family, and we definitely take care of our own here, especially our newbies.
What are email discussion groups (otherwise known as "mailing lists")?
A mailing list is an online medium allowing many people to talk with each other through electronic mail (email). A list might discuss many topics or a single subject, as ours does. People subscribe to mailing lists, notifying the server that they wish to participate in that particular group. Once subscribed, the person receives all messages posted to the list (the subscribed group). You can elect to receive these posts as they occur, which is called the "List Mode." Or, you can choose to receive a daily collection of posts, all in one single email, called the "Digest Mode." You can unsubscribe from a mailing list at any time, and they are free of charge to all subscribers.
TO JOIN:
We're always looking for our inline cousins. Are you looking for us? If so, please consider joining our group in online discussion of our ancestors... Come into the family.
You have the choice of subscribing in the regular mode where you will receive each individual message as it is posted to the list. Or, you can elect to subscribe to the digest which is a compilation of all the messages in a 12-hour period or when the message load reaches 20,000 bytes - whichever comes first.
Click on the link below in the mode you wish to subscribe. When the email window pops up, type only the word "subscribe" (without the quotation marks) in the body of the message. Do not include any other words. Do not include signature lines.
